Our whales are still here in earnest! 98% sightings for the last month and a half as per usual all summer long here in Depoe Bay. We are bery fortunate to have our Resident Whales.  Earlier this year was slightly worrisome with our whales being about a month late.  Our kelp was late forming so some of our whales didn't stop here in the Whale Watch Capitol until our beautiful kelp forests came back.  Tradewinds Charters is a proud member of the Oregon Kelp Alliance and your (and our) donations are greatly appreciated!  Kelp is the foundation to any food chain and supports the mysid shrimp that our whales eat a ton a day of. They are the size of your fingernail clipping and weight less than that.  The kelp also offer protection for many fish species.  Please support ORKA to protect our oceans!! Dar she Blows!!
Our beautiful whales usually stick around until around the end of the month so take this opportunity to come see these majestic creatures before the migration starts.
